I had heard great things about Digital Gene from a couple of people I knew, whose website they had designed and developed. They were really professional all the way through, which was awesome. I sometimes felt that Sharon should have been awarded a medal by the end of the project. I have lots of personal barriers to addressing technical challenges, it really isn't my area. To get the kind of authentic, really personal representation of my business that I wanted I had to initially be very reflective, and that really needed to be done in collaboration with the team. The initial questions they asked me, although they took me some time to consider, really set a solid ground for the whole design. I felt that they really understood my vision from the outset. That's because they really know their market. The result exceeded my expectation. I absolutely love it! It is really functional, makes my booking so much easier and looks amazing. My business has moved on a big stride because of it. The best thing about working with Digital Gene was that they were really flexible. I was Ill throughout the build and the flexibility was very much appreciated. I look forward to the next stage, which I hope isn't too far away. They really know my business now and have lots of ideas so I feel like they're part of my growth process. I thoroughly recommend Digital Gene. Side note: They also sent me marshmallows with my face on!!

The services of the Digital Gene were recommended to us by a friend. Following a number of emails and conversations, we decided to commission Sharon and the team to build an e-commerce site to launch a new venture. At the same time, we also tasked the Digital Gene with developing some bespoke software for a separate project which was in the early stages of development for our largest customer. Gary provided us with a proof of concept which met our initial criteria. This project remains in the pipeline for the future. With regards to the website, it is fair to say that we thought a new e-commerce site would be a simple process of us providing the Digital Gene with some information and then leaving it to Sharon and Co to fill in the blanks. How wrong we were! The initial questionnaire was a little daunting, but we understand it was necessary to provide Sharon and Gary with a foundation to build on. Sharon certainly kept us on our toes and worked with us to develop the brand name, logos and the general ethos of what we wanted to achieve on the site. She also provided good advice in relation such things as unique product descriptions – something we did not realise could be detrimental to the business if we did not get this right. We certainly didn’t want to be in a position where we could have potentially been sending traffic to our competitors. Sharon and Gary guided us through everything relating to the website. This included giving advice on which menu structures would be best to use. We were obviously keen to ensure our website visitors did not get frustrated by a complicated menu ladder which could result in them leaving the site prematurely. Over a period of a few months, the site was developed. Sharon continually providing updates and asked for input at various stages. Gary provided a video tutorial of how to manage the site with particular emphasis on how to add products. This was invaluable and saved a lot of time. Prior to launch, and over time, we developed our own skills in the management of the site. During the snagging process, anything that was embedded in the site, which was beyond our control, was dealt with quickly. Both Gary and Sharon have been professional and approachable throughout; we certainly appreciated their patience at some points. We have had many Zoom conversations and discussions regarding both projects and are happy with the service we have received. Well done to all at the Digital Gene, we look forward to working with you in the future.
